communities of the central California Coast
The Marine Discovery Series is an on-going series designed to educate, entertain and enlighten divers and non-divers alike. This program
will help you understand and identify the inhabitants of our local subtidal community and usually includes 2 staff led dives in the Monterey area
the weekend following the lecture (weather permitting).

Special Marine Discovery Night at Wallin's Dive Center

Join us for this special Marine Discovery presentation on Thursday, September 20th, 2007 at
Wallin's Dive Center in San Carlos at 7:00pm. This Marine Discovery Series event will
include a 2 hour slide show and lecture PLUS 2 dives the following Saturday,
September 22nd, 2007

Cost for lecture only:  FREE
Cost for lecture and dives:
Kelptomainiacs = FREE
Non-Kelptos = $15

Kelp Forest Ecology and
Fish Stories

Come learn the history and importance of our kelp forests along
with identification of the fish that inhabit them. Then join us for 2
fabulous dives in the Central Kelp Beds of Breakwater to see first
hand the results of our magnificent kelp forests!
Invertebrates: The backbone of our subtidal community
Slugs and snails and worms, oh my! Join us for an evening with our
spineless friends to learn about the amazing populations of our subtidal
communities and why they thrive along our central coast.

Necessary info: Space is limited, non-refundable pre-registration is required. Cost of Marine Discovery Series lectures and events
does not include gear rental or transportation. Participants must be current, certified, cold water divers to participate in dive days.
Scuba Review courses may be taken prior to dive days for an additional fee.

Subtidal Invertebrates, Nudibranchs, Fish, Night Creatures,
and Marine Mammals!
